Rarely does the location of your employer matter more than what you accomplished while there.

However, in some cases location does matter. This would generally apply to someone who has international experience and is continuing to seek a position internationally.

Rather than hope the hiring manager notices the location of your employers, it's best to bring this information out quickly and effectively.

One way to do that is to mention it in the Qualifications Summary or Profile paragraph that begins your resume. For example, a business developer in retail fashion might use an opening summary like this:

Accomplished, multilingual Professional with the experience and skill to excel as a CEO in a global organization. International fashion experience for leading retailers in London, Paris and Milan. Recent success includes enhancing profits at Très Chic by EUR$7 million in 2003 through effective reorganization and a proactive marketing campaign. Fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and English. Willing to relocate to Europe, Asia or Australia.
